The power of the Acuity™ assessment program is strengthened
through comprehensive professional development targeted to educators,
administrators, and school support staff.
Q: Quality professional development is very important
in our district. How can we ensure our teachers will be adequately
prepared to use Acuity?
A: CTB/McGraw-Hill, in collaboration with
districts around the nation, develops detailed professional
development programs matched to educator needs. Professional
development packages and individual workshops can guide educators
to effectively use report data, target instruction, and meet
each student's unique learning needs.
Q: Do you support customized workshops?
A: Yes, we can deliver custom on-site workshops
that can be developed around school or district requirements
and specifications.
Q: Our teachers don’t have a lot of available
time for professional development activities. Do you have
shorter workshops to facilitate our schedules?
A: Acuity workshops are designed to be flexible
and are delivered in a variety of formats. We provide a customizable
menu of professional development offerings that include anything
from short online workshops to a full day of on-site professional
development.
Q: We are limited with space for workshops. Do you
have online professional development?
A: We offer three choices of online professional
development. Each web-based session lasts up to three hours
and can help teachers integrate Acuity into their classrooms,
interpret reports, and use results to improve student achievement.
Q: We have a professional development model in place
now for our teachers, but may want to augment our efforts.
Can we pick a particular topic for a workshop?
A: Our menu of professional development workshops
allows you to pick the sessions that will meet your school
or district needs. We offer sessions that cover the following
topics: Pre-test workshops, Data Analysis, and Using Acuity Results
to Improve Student Achievement. We can also customize workshops
to meet your needs.
